The
American Red Cross of Central Alabama offers a monthly course in Nurse
Assistant Training. This popular class offers the basic requirements
necessary to take the Alabama State Exam for certification.
Daniel Pratt Elementary school was awarded with honors by the American Red
Cross of Central Alabama. Awards were given for most Heroes squares sold by
an individual student, and most squares sold by a homeroom class.
Themed "Red Cross Family: Rooted in Service," this year
the Central Alabama recognized it's family at home with a celebration held
at the Chapter facility. Food, fun, and friendship were shared by all.
An event hosted by Lisa Weil to celebrate the successful fundraiser, Clara's
Circle. This fundraiser asked participants to donate $1 for every year the
chapter has been open since it's original charter in 1917. Clara’s Circle is
a select group of humanitarian women in the Montgomery area that have
distinguished themselves with service and dedication to the community, who
give of themselves by giving back to others.
The Central Alabama Chapter was one of 15 chapters
selected to work with Pitney Bowes to sort and distribute hundreds of
thousands of Holiday cards to Soldiers here at home and overseas. Over a
hundred volunteers and staff came together over three days in December to
make sure our troops received season's greetings from home.
The 12th Annual Fundraiser held at Bob Baumhower's Wings.
It's an Auburn vs. Alabama Themed event that offers great music, food,
prizes, and a silent auction. We have numerous celebrities from area teams,
mascots, and a wing-eating contest. This family-friendly event is fun every
year and by far our most popular event.
