"Who do I call a hero? Someone who donates blood." - 11 year old soccer goalie who needs regular blood transfusions to stay alive. |
All the technology and science involved in blood donation is only made possible by one simple selfless act: An average person takes time out of his busy schedule to give a piece of himself so that someone he will never know has a chance to live.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Learn if you are eligible for blood donation. In general, you must be healthy, at least 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and have not donated blood in the last 56 days.
There is no upper age limit as long as you are well with no restrictions or limitations to your activities. Other aspects of each potential donor's health history are discussed as a part of the donation process before any blood is collected. Each donor receives a brief examination during which temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and blood count are measured.
For more specific donor information, call (334) 260-3980, or click here.
Come by the Blood Donor Center at our Carmichael Road location. The hours vary per day, so check the schedule below to find a time perfect for you. Or you can call, 1-800-GIVE-LIFE at any time for more information.
